Version Specific Features

J-Chart/eSignal is an innovative analysis methodology and third-party software that integrates with eSignal's data manager (DM), i.e. J-Chart/eSignal utilizes eSignal's streaming data feed, intraday history data (backfilling) as well as historical data of up to 60 previous days.

Important note: The following descriptions and directions assume that you have subscribed for eSignal's service which will allow you to retrieve live data, intraday history data as well as historical data. If you do not have subscribed for eSignal's service you will not be able to use J-Chart/eSignal. Find more information about eSignal's service at www.esignal.com. eSignal's service is independent from our service.

The following figure illustrates the technical structure.

Use the "Update" button to access eSignal's historical database and download up to 60 previous days. The data will be locally stored on your PC's hard disk. This way, you are able to build up your own "historical data base" for medium- and long-term analysis.

Due to the huge amount of (tick) data being transferred, the download of historical data can be quite time-consuming (depending on your connection speed and the number of historical days chosen). Therefore, we recommend you to perform data updates after markets closed.

Due to the given technical structure there are some version specific features that you should be aware of.

• Each click on the Reload button during the live trading session will reconnect you to eSignal's data manager. Each time J-Chart has to execute the reconnection and retrieve the live tick data from the beginning of the actual trading session. Consequently, the initial tick data recall might take up to 1 minute, the following reconnections take about 2-3 seconds of execution time.
  
  
• Using a router and/or firewall may lead to connection problems. In that case, bypass your router and/or disable your firewall.
